Rock the Desert and Shoes for Orphan Souls are joining together to make a difference for orphans and we want you and your group to collect new shoes and bring them to Rock the Desert August 4th-6th in Midland, Texas.

We’re giving away ‘Big Foot’ shoe trophies to the church groups and individual who collects the most shoes.

Shoes for Orphan Souls, a ministry of Buckner International, provides new shoes and socks to orphans and at-risk children in the United States and throughout the world. From conducting shoe drives to humanitarian aid trips, Shoes for Orphan Souls offers hands-on opportunities to individuals, groups and organizations wanting to transform lives. Since 1999, 2.2 million pairs of new shoes and socks have been distributed to children in 74 countries.

The Need: Athletic shoes or sneakers, in all sizes, for boys, girls and teens.

Register your Shoe Drive. Visit our website, ShoesforOrphanSouls.org to register your shoe drive. Please indicate, during the registration process, that your drive is affiliated with Rock the Desert. Promotional materials will be sent to you, which includes brochures, posters and a DVD. Please start the shoe drive before you receive the materials.

Spread the Word. Tell your family, friends and neighbors that you are collecting NEW shoes and ask them to make a contribution to your drive. Also, collect shoes at your workplace or church. Use posters to publicize your drive and don’t forget to set out a collection box. If you need additional promotional materials, please call us at 1.866.774.SHOE (7463).

Bring the shoes to Rock The Desert. Each group or individual is responsible for delivering the shoes to Rock The Desert in Midland, Texas, August 4th-6th. Shoes for Orphan Souls will receive your shoe donation at the entrance of the festival area. If you are unable to attend the festival, we request that you ship your shoes to our warehouse.

Volunteer at Rock the Desert. Volunteers are needed to sort and pack all the shoes that have been donated, preparing them for international shipping. There is something that everyone can do – children and adults alike. Our tent will be ready for volunteers to sign up and volunteer all day Saturday, August 6th.
